#go90 Event at the Wallis Annenberg Center Friday, September 25, 2015
Los Angeles is a fabulous city. Whether it be Film, Fashion, Music or Art there is always something to celebrate. I'm incredibly social and suffer from a slight case of FOMO, however it is not possible to attend every event one is invited to. This city was truly made for socialites. With so many parties and red carpets, it is no wonder that the Kardashians have become famous for being famous. If someone wants to be social and be photographed nightly, then this is the city for you.
Last night, I attended an awesome event in Beverly Hills. In fact, it might be the best party I've been to this year. Funny thing about that is, I almost didn't go. Our friend, Jessica Chong works in PR and invited Rhonda and I to attend the VIP Sneak Peak of Verizon's new mobile streaming service, go90. "The go90 Social Entertainment Platform is built for the mobile-first generation, offering access to live and on demand video wrapped in social experience." Rhonda and I have been working a lot and decided we would probably skip this party, until Jessica told us this was an event we would definitely not want to miss. Jessica knows parties and if she was insisting we go, we were going.
Rhonda was suppose to be going on a blind date this night and rather than cancel she asked her friend Seth, who was responsible for the set-up if he would bring David (blind date) as his plus one to the event. Seth agreed and the blind date was back on. Our friends, Blair and Nikki were also coming and this was shaping up to be quite a night.
The event would take place at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. When we arrived it was pure fabulousness and I immediately knew this was going to be a good party. The step and repeat was a who's who of young Hollywood with Chrissy Tiegen, John Legend, Freida Pinto, Adrian Grenier, Nina Dobrev, Zoe Saldana, Joe Manganiello, Emmy Rossum, Christian Slater, Christina Milian, Alicia Silverstone, amongst many others in attendance. This was a fab guest list and I couldn't wait to get inside.
Once in, the setting for the party was stunning. No doubt this was a multi-million dollar event with every detail meticulously executed. There were several bars and delicious appetizers were being served everywhere. The crowd was young and attractive. The guest list was A+ and the buzz inside was growing as we soon learned that Kanye West was the surprise musical guest. Pretty awesome. After having a few drinks at one of the many bars the crowd was asked to go inside the Annenberg theater for an special live performance of Funny or Die's sketch, "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galifanakis. The sketch was hysterical and Zach was joined on stage by Ted Danson and Bryan Cranston. The skit was next level funny and we were all in stitches. As soon as the sketch ended everyone made their way back to the patio where Kanye West immediately started his set. The energy was electric and Kanye was incredible, as he played hit after hit with the crowd going nuts. Kanye was in a great mood and played an awesome set. It truly was a flawless performance. At 10pm on the dot, Kanye finished his set and ended the night by teasing (or not) the crowd with "Kanye 2020". Epic.
Awesome night. Killer event. Fabulous party. Nothing better than #fabliving in LA with fab people. Beyond thankful I didn't miss this party. Ready for the next...
On a side note, Rhonda's blind date seems awesome. At the end of the night he asked me if this was a typical night for us and although, this party supersedes all other parties we've been to this year, It Is. Buckle up David, as long as you're hanging with Rhonda and our group of friends it's bound to be a fabulous ride. Welcome to fabliving buddy!!!
